The Road to Justice 2026
birdSEED is a foundation rooted at the intersection of homeownership, wealth building, and racial justice.
Following our impactful 2023 event, we invite you to return to the Woolly Mammoth Theater for a special encore screening of The Road to Justice. While we first shared this powerful film two years ago, its themes of reckoning and reconciliation carry even deeper weight in today’s environment.
The Road to Justice follows two generations—predominantly Black middle school students from Chicago and older Americans who lived through the 1960s Civil Rights era—on a transformative tour through the American South. It is a testament to how direct experience can spark systemic change.
The Evening Includes:
- Screening: A 31-minute documentary following two generations through the Civil Rights South.
- Community Dialogue: A post-screening discussion with Executive Producer and birdSEED National Board Member André Robert Lee, focusing on the film’s themes in our current social and political landscape.
- Recognition: Presentation of the annual birdSEED Nest Housing Justice Award
- Food and Drink: Enjoy eating and drinking during discussions with community members
